El Poblado is where most visitors sleep, so it is where most visitors eat — and it rewards knowing which street you are on. Provenza is the restaurant-row with the international kitchens; Manila, three blocks south, is quieter and more local; Astorga and the streets around Parque Lleras hold the fine-dining rooms and the big Colombian houses. This guide sorts the neighborhood by zone and by budget, with Google ratings from our own venue reviews and prices from the restaurants at our last check.
Provenza — the restaurant row
Carrera 35 and the streets off it between Calles 7 and 9: tree-shaded terraces, the highest rents in the city and the widest choice. Reserve on Friday and Saturday.
- Belisario ★ 4.8 · 8,417 Google reviews — the Provenza terrace locals actually book — Colombian-Mediterranean plates, cocktails, and one of the highest ratings in the neighborhood.
- Alambique ★ 4.6 · 5,719 Google reviews — a converted house with a garden; known for the 800-gram ceviche de chicharrón (68,000 COP) meant for sharing.
- Rocoto — Peruvian, the Provenza standard for ceviche and lomo saltado; mains roughly 15,000–42,000 COP.

- La Pampa — Argentine parrilla with a second branch in Laureles; the steak default on the row.
- Pizzaiolo — Neapolitan pizza; the quick, reliable option when the terraces are full.
- Kabuki — teppanyaki and sushi; the most expensive table on the street at up to about 118,000 COP for the big platters.
- Hongbao — Vietnamese-Cantonese, small and cheap for Provenza (12,000–18,000 COP).
- Mondongo’s ★ 4.6 · 11,479 Google reviews — on Calle 10 at the edge of Provenza: the bandeja paisa and mondongo institution, 11,000-plus reviews and no need to book at lunch.
Manila — the local block
South of Calle 10 around Carrera 43D: cafés, taquerías and a couple of the city’s most interesting new kitchens, at prices a notch below Provenza.
- Idílico — Colombian ingredients in a tasting format from chefs Yeison Mora and Cristian Salazar (Cl 12 #43D-21); bookings only through their website.
- Hacienda Urbana — the neighborhood’s Colombian-classics house.
- Taquino and El Güero — the two taquerías everyone argues about.
- De la Pitri Mitri — Peruvian; Frutos del Mar — seafood; Tal Cual Arte — grill and seafood with art on the walls.
- Hija Mía Coffee Roasters ★ 4.7 · 1,075 Google reviews — the Manila coffee bar, and the best breakfast stop in the zone.

Eating around Parque Lleras

Colombian classics in El Poblado
For bandeja paisa, mondongo and sancocho the addresses are Mondongo’s, La Matriarca, Medellín es Sabor and Hatoviejo’s Poblado branch — dish by dish in our paisa food guide.
Eating well under 30,000 COP
El Poblado is the most expensive comuna, but the corrientazo lunch (about 19,500 COP average in the south of the city) survives on the side streets of Manila and around Poblado metro station; Hongbao, the taquerías and the arepa griddles on Calle 10 stay under 20,000 COP; Hija Mía and Café Velvet do breakfast for the price of a Provenza cocktail. More in budget eats.
Booking, tipping, getting there
- Reserve Thursday–Saturday from about 7 pm; Provenza fills by 8:30. OpenTable covers the top rooms; most others answer WhatsApp or Instagram the same day.
- The printed 10% propina voluntaria is standard; 15% is generous.
- Poblado metro station is a 12–15 minute walk downhill from Provenza; the walk back up is why taxis exist. See where to stay in El Poblado for which sub-area suits you.
