Medellín lives in a bowl — a green valley walled in by mountains — so the city is basically built for views. Ask any paisa where to watch the sunset and you’ll get five answers and an invitation. Grab a tinto (or a cold Águila), head up at golden hour, and watch the whole valley flicker on. These are the best miradores in Medellín, from the classic postcard spots to the ones locals actually use.

Cerro Nutibara & Pueblito Paisa
The classic. A little replica of a traditional Antioquian village sits on top of Cerro Nutibara, ringed by a 360° balcony over the city. Easy to reach, great by day, magic at dusk. Pure paisa nostalgia with the skyline behind it.
Cerro El Volador
The big green hill right in the middle of the city — an archaeological park and the local move for a free, breezy sunset. Bring water; it’s a short uphill walk, and the reward is the valley opening up on both sides.
Metrocable & Parque Arví
Medellín’s cable cars are public transport and the best cheap mirador in town. Ride Línea K or L up the mountainside and the whole city unrolls beneath you — then keep going to Parque Arví’s cloud forest at the top. Tap your Cívica card and float.
Comuna 13 viewpoints
Beyond the famous escalators and graffiti, Comuna 13 is stacked with rooftop miradores looking back over the hillside barrios — some of the most photographed views in the city, with a hip-hop soundtrack and a mango biche in hand.
Mirador Las Palmas
The nighttime postcard. On the road toward the airport, Las Palmas looks straight down onto the glittering carpet of city lights. Go after dark, ideally with someone driving, and pair it with dinner up in the hills.

Best time & getting around
Golden hour (around 5:30–6:15pm) is unbeatable, and Medellín’s spring-like weather means it’s good year-round. Use the Metro and Metrocable to reach most spots cheaply and safely; for Las Palmas and farther miradores, grab a taxi or a tour with transport.
