About Restaurante Marmoleo
Marmoleo is a parrilla set in a colonial casona up on Loma del Tesoro, El Poblado — about ten minutes above the urban core on the road toward the airport. Painted window frames, a paisa courtyard with a central fountain, old photographs of Antioquia, gardens, a small animal enclosure and a children’s park. Live music runs every day of the week, and there is parking for roughly a hundred cars plus valet.
What to Order at Marmoleo
The house signature is the ceviche de chicharrón, around $27,000 COP — fine crisp pork strips that take hours of preparation, and Marmoleo was the first restaurant in Medellín to serve the dish. After that it is a steakhouse: the Chata de Angus is the most-ordered cut, with Surf & Turf, Rey Faruk, Lomo Berraco and Baby Beef down the menu, and a Picada Montañera built for three. Order the arepa de mote alongside — the kitchen treats it as part of the meal rather than a side.
Tips for Your Visit
Marmoleo is at Cra. 11 #9A Sur-180 on Loma del Tesoro, so a car or ride app rather than a walk — worth combining with a run up Las Palmas. Cards are accepted and booking is advisable. Reckon on around $100,000 COP a head. The kitchen runs to 10:30 PM midweek and 11:30 PM Friday and Saturday, with the bar going later; on Sunday it closes at 5 PM. Unusually, the restaurant has its own helipad and runs a helicopter tour that lands on site and meets you with sparkling wine.
