About Hotel Tequendama Medellín
Tequendama Medellín opened in September 2024 inside the shell of the former Hotel TRYP after a year-long renovation — which is why some booking systems still file it under the old name. It runs 140 rooms over 14 floors beside the Atanasio Girardot sports complex on Calle Colombia. Its owner, Sociedad Tequendama, was founded by CREMIL, the Colombian armed forces’ retirement fund, and hotel profits fund veterans’ welfare programmes.

Free wifi throughout and free covered on-site parking, which is rare at this price in Medellín. There is a gym, a rooftop terrace with a jacuzzi, the MED Cocina Bar restaurant and event halls seating up to 350. Rooms run from 25 m² Superior doubles to a 48 m² Family Superior with a double and two bunks, plus a Junior Suite with floor-to-ceiling stadium views. It is pet-friendly. There is no swimming pool. An extra bed is $70,000 COP per person per night.

Estadio station on Line B is roughly a five-to-ten-minute walk, so this is a genuine walk-to-metro hotel. Rates start around USD 48. Check-in runs 3 PM to midnight and check-out is noon; photo ID and a credit card are required at check-in. It suits business and event travellers — Plaza Mayor is about 3 km away — and families needing the bunk configuration. It does not suit anyone who wants Parque Lleras on foot.
