Private tours
Private makes sense for groups of three or more, for anyone who wants hotel pickup, or when timing matters (leaving Guatapé early beats every other trick). Verified private options: Private City Tour (from $100 pp), Private City Tour & Comuna 13 with lunch (from $76.93 pp), Private Guatapé (from $138 pp), Private Coffee Farm Tour (from $104 pp) and the Guatapé helicopter tour (from $335.99 pp).
How to choose a Medellín tour
- Check the meeting point before the price. Most half-day tours meet at a metro station or café rather than your hotel. Poblado metro and Parque del Poblado are the common ones — an El Poblado base makes every tour easier.
- Group size is the real difference between two tours at the same price. The listings state a maximum; anything under 20 feels like a tour, 40+ feels like a crowd.
- Cash for extras. Rock tickets, tips and street snacks are cash; tours rarely stop at an ATM.
- Book 2–3 days ahead in high season (December–January, Easter week, the Flower Festival in August). Every tour on this page has free cancellation up to 24 hours before, so booking early costs nothing.
- Start early. The 6:30 am Guatapé pickups and the 9 am Comuna 13 slots beat the heat and the crowds.
Where to stay for easy tour logistics
El Poblado is where most tours pick up or meet; Laureles is the second stop. Compare rates for your dates:
