Four days in Medellín lets you add what most travelers wish they’d had time for: a working coffee farm. The 3-day must-sees stay the same — Comuna 13, Guatapé, Provenza dinners — but Day 4 adds a half-day or full-day finca visit, where you walk the rows, learn the wet-mill process, and roast a cup yourself.
Day 1 — Settle In & Provenza
Hotel pickup, walk Provenza, sunset at Pueblito Paisa, dinner in El Poblado. The same Day 1 as our 3-day itinerary.
Day 2 — Comuna 13 Tour
Morning Comuna 13 graffiti tour. Afternoon at Plaza Botero or El Castillo gardens. Dinner in Laureles — try Hatoviejo for traditional paisa cuisine.
Day 3 — Guatapé Full Day
Full-day tour to El Peñól rock and the town. Get back tired; light dinner.
Day 4 — Coffee Farm
Coffee farms within 1–2 hours of Medellín run smaller and more accessible than the famous Eje Cafetero region (which is a 4–5 hour drive). A typical half-day tour includes hotel pickup, a walk through the coffee rows, hands-on bean picking, the wet-mill demonstration, a roasting workshop, and tasting. Plan to be back in the city by mid-afternoon.
Alternatively: trade the coffee day for paragliding at San Felix mountain (45 min north) or a Metrocable ride up to Parque Arví — a cloud-forest reserve reachable by cable car for about $1 USD round trip.
