Medellín es Sabor — Champi — is a comida típica house on Calle 10, one street off Parque Lleras. It has been running for more than 25 years, which on a Poblado block that turns over constantly makes it an outlier: a neighbourhood paisa grill that survived the neighbourhood becoming a nightlife district, and that is still priced like one rather than like a Lleras tourist trap.

The kitchen’s own top three are the bandeja paisa ($57,900 COP), the picada mixta and the sancocho — including a sancocho trifásico with beef, chicken and rib ($49,900). Reviewers routinely call the bandeja the largest platter they have been served. The grill runs deeper than most comida típica places: punta de anca, chata, solomito and bistec a caballo at $69,900, a mix de carnes at $84,900, and 600 g tomahawk, T-bone and R-bone cuts at $169,000. Tips for Your Visit

Champi is at Cl 10 #37-24, a block from Parque Lleras and walkable from anywhere in central El Poblado. Cards are accepted, there is outdoor seating on Calle 10, and it takes bookings. The most useful thing to know: it is open from 9 AM until 3 AM, which makes it one of the few places near Lleras serving proper food after the bars empty.
