Medellín 2-day weekend itinerary
Two days in Medellín — the must-see compressed weekend itinerary

Two days in Medellín is tight but doable for the must-see hits: a Comuna 13 graffiti tour, dinner along Provenza, a Plaza Botero stop, and sunset at Pueblito Paisa. You won’t fit Guatapé — that needs a full day on its own. If you want Guatapé, you need our 3-day itinerary minimum.

Day 1 — Land & City Highlights

Land at JMC airport, Uber to El Poblado (30–50 min, $20–25). Drop bags and freshen up. Lunch at Mondongo’s for a bandeja paisa initiation. Afternoon Metro or Uber to Plaza Botero in Centro for the bronze sculptures and a stop at Museo de Antioquia. Late-afternoon Uber up to Pueblito Paisa for sunset. Dinner along Provenza; cocktails at a rooftop bar.

Day 2 — Comuna 13 + Final Provenza Lunch

Morning Comuna 13 graffiti tour (book the 9 or 10 AM slot). 2–3 hours of walking, escalators, dance demonstrations, and the story of the neighborhood’s transformation. Afternoon: lunch in El Poblado, an hour walking Provenza for last-minute coffee or souvenirs. Late afternoon: Uber to JMC for the flight home, leaving 2.5–3 hours buffer for traffic and check-in.

Where to Stay for 2 Days

El Poblado is the right call for a 2-day trip — it minimizes transit time and puts you walking distance to most evening activities. Compare hotels:

Comuna 13 plus one other half-day activity is the realistic max. Filter by Comuna 13 or city tour:

Reality check: 2 days is enough for first impressions, not for the full Medellín experience. If you can stretch to 3, our 3-day itinerary adds Guatapé and changes the trip materially.
